The latest survey by RAJAR (Radio Joint Audience Research Limited), the official audience measurement system for the radio industry in the UK, shows that 2.1 million adult Britons download podcasts to listen to on an MP3 player, a rise of 15 per cent on the previous three months. This is 17 per cent of the kingdom’s adults who own MP3 players. The survey showed that the enjoyment of radio was at its highest level since Rajar started tracking British listening habits in 1992. More than 45 million people tuning into UK radio each week, a rise put down to the increase in listeners accessing broadcasts with computers, digital TVs and mobile phones.
